Gangsta Boo Passes Away | 2DOPEBOYZ

Today (Jan. 1) is the final day of Kwanzaa, Imani (or, “faith”): to believe with all our hearts in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

With a heavy heart, it was announced that Memphis rapper Gangsta Boo tragically passed away today. Née Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, she was a member of the influential Three 6 Mafia, which also included DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, Crunchy Black, and Koopsta Knicca among others (Lord Infamous, also a nephew of DJ Paul, passed away in 2013). Boo released her solo debut album, Enquiring Minds, in 1998, which had the popular single “Where Dem Dollas At!?“

Boo would leave Three 6 Mafia in 2002, continuing her solo career and releasing several albums and mixtapes. In recent times, she would collaborate with a variety of musicians, including Latto (on “FTCU“), Run The Jewels (on “Walking in the Snow“), JunglePussy (on “Stamina“), and newcomers such as Hannah Monds (“Big Momma”).

She was only 43 years old.

The on-ear Beats Solo3 may be a good fit for music fans looking for a pair of bright-sounding headphones, especially those partial to rock, folk and country tunes. These noise-canceling earbuds come in four fun colors; stone purple (pictured), white, black and sage gray. The earbuds offer a secure, comfortable fit. The noise-canceling feature includes three listening modes. They are also compatible with spatial audio.

I have finally found earbuds that have great noise cancelling, great quality sound and excellent battery life” wrote one Amazon reviewer. “The number one thing I like about these earbuds is they stay in my ears and never feel like they are falling out. I have walked with them on, jogged on my treadmill, rode my bike and not once did I ever have to push them in because I felt like they were falling out.”

Beats Fit Pro, $160 (regularly $200)

Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II

Bose products are known for their excellent sound quality, and the new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are no exception. They claim to offer the world’s best active noise cancellation, and have a new CustomTune technology that auto-adjusts music to your ears’ liking. They also have an “aware mode” that pauses noise cancellation for when you need to hear your surroundings.

If you disliked how bulky the original Bose QuietComfort Earbuds felt, there’s good news: The QuietComfort Earbuds II are one-third smaller than their predecessor. They’re water- and sweat-resistant, too, so you can wear them to the gym.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II offer six hours of battery life in a single charge, and come with a charging case that holds three additional charges (24 hours of battery life in total). You can control music, answer calls and adjust the volume by simply tapping your earbuds instead of having to use your phone. These Bluetooth 5.3-compatible earbuds are available in black and soapstone colors.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

Another pair of earbuds specifically designed for workouts, the Jabra Elite Active 75t wireless earbuds are IP57 dustproof and waterproof, resilient enough to survive a quick drop in a puddle. But just as importantly, they feature a grip coating to keep them in place during workouts.

The Jabra Elite Active 75t “beat(s) the hell out of my regular Airpods,” says Amazon reviewer Nelson92. “I don’t have to push them back in while running! Secure fit, cancels out strong Colorado winds. The battery has already lasted more than a few runs.”

Sound quality is great: Multiple Amazon reviewers praise the powerful bass they deliver. These earbuds offer active noise cancellation powered by four microphones. You can turn this noise cancellation off with the push of a button, however, allowing you to talk with someone without needing to remove them from your ears.

Jabra says the Elite Active 75t earbuds will last 5.5 hours on a full charge, or up to 24 hours when stored in the included wired charging case (USB-C). A 15-minute quick charge buys up an hour of listening time.

Jabra Elite Active 75t, $100

Skullcandy Push Active earbuds

These Skullcandy Push Active earbuds are designed for use at the gym. They feature earhooks to keep the earbuds securely in your ears while running or lifting. They also have an impressive 44-hour battery life with the charging case.

The battery charge is good and I don’t have to charge the case frequently.” shared one Amazon reviewer. :These earphones are good for active people while running, working out or doing any other outdoor activity. I use them every day at the gym and couldn’t be happier.”

Treblab X3 Pro earbuds

These Treblab earbuds were a favorite during our last round of hands-on earbud testing. They offer a secure fit with adjustable ear hooks and excellent sound quality for the price. The Treblab X3 Pro earbuds are also water-proof and sweat resistant.

“These Treblab X3-Pro earbuds have worked much better for me [than previous earbuds]. They stay on and in my ear, have great sound and way more volume than needed!” wrote a verified buyer on Amazon.

Treblab X3 Pro earbuds, $70

Jaybird Vista 2

An excellent choice for those with bigger budgets, the Jaybird Vista 2 is a serious pair of sports headphones. They carry an IP68 rating, which means they’re sweatproof, waterproof and dustproof. Jaybird also claims they’re freeze-, shock- and impact-resistant as well.

Jaybird Vista 2 Bluetooth earbuds feature active noise cancellation, a terrific perk that cuts out background noise. But — importantly for people who run or bike outdoors — the Vista 2’s Soundsense feature lets you temporarily turn off active noise cancellation with a tap, letting important sound cues from the real world come through for safety.

These wireless earbuds feature “great quality in both sound and build,” Amazon reviewer Christopher Mann raves. They add the Jaybird Vista 2 has a comfortable fit and is “plenty loud.”

The Jaybird Vista 2 lasts for eight hours on a full charge, with 16 more hours of charge in the included wireless charging case (also chargeable via USB-C). And if you forget to charge these earbuds before hitting the gym, you can get an hour of play time out of a single five-minute quick charge.

Jaybird Vista 2, $118 (reduced from $150)

Bose Sport Earbuds

Bose quality typically doesn’t come cheap, but the Bose Sport Earbuds are one of the brand’s more affordable options. This set of wireless earbuds are sweat-resistant (IPX4) and come with three sizes of eartips. And, if you’re looking for a new pair of running headphones, these might be a good pick. Why? They’re designed to stay in place even through strenuous workouts, and according to Amazon reviewers, they deliver.

“I can say that these Bose Sport Earbuds stay in my ear when I am doing backflips,” wrote one verified purchaser on Amazon.

“They sit in just the right place to give awesome sound without putting ridiculous pressure on your ear canal, while simultaneously becoming almost impossible to actually feel once in,” adds this Amazon reviewer..

They feature touch controls and they’re smart enough to pause play when the right earbud is removed from your head. The wired charging case (USB-C) has enough juice to extend these earbuds’ five-hour play time to a full 15 hours.

Bose Sport Earbuds, $129 (reduced from $149)

Treblab over-ear workout headphones

The Treblab over-ear workout headphones feature advanced noise-canceling technology and great sound quality. They offer 35 hours of playtime per charge and recharge quickly. Save $50 on these over-ear headphones now before the sale ends.

One Amazon reviewer wrote; ” I use these at the gym, and they’re perfect. They’re comfortable, hold a charge for a long time, have great sound, are lightweight, and stay snug on my head.”

Treblab over-ear workout headphones, $70 (reduced from $120)

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo

These 4.4-star-rated wireless earbuds from Anker are definitely budget-focused. Don’t expect the luxe features or top-tier sound quality you’d get from a pair of $200 earbuds, but Amazon reviewers say these sub-$50 earbuds are amazing for the price, with good sound quality.

They’ve got real gym chops too: The lightweight Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo earbuds are rated IPX7 waterproof (protected against temporary immersion), so they can be rinsed off after workouts. They promise a secure fit as well, boasting a twist-and-lock design that stays in place.

“The sound is good,” Amazon reviewer Greg says, “better than average but it’s not a Hi-Fi audiophile’s acoustic dream. For the pounding I’m giving these buds while cycling, running, working out, working in the yard and just about every other sweat-soaked activity, they definitely step up to the plate and perform.”

Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo, $30 (reduced from $60)

A staff-loved wearable that looks like jewelry

This CBS Essentials staff-loved smart ring helps you track your activity and your sleep.

The Oura Ring

The Oura Ring is a health tracker that looks just like any fashion ring. You can order your ring in silver, gold, rose gold, black or a shade called “stealth” which looks like matte black. “I chose gold. I really love that it looks like a piece of jewelry and doesn’t have a screen. I think that’s a big reason as to why I was so resistant to wearables in the past,” said senior writer Lily Rose. “I’m already staring at my phone, computer and TV. I don’t need another screen to keep me busy. Plus, this smart ring pairs with the Oura app on your phone to give you all your data. I can look at it when I want to without having a reminder blaring at me from my wrist.”

The wearable is worn on your finger and tracks biometric data to provide personalized insights into how you sleep and your health. When you wear the Oura Ring, it can record your workouts, track your resting heart rate and your heart rate during exercise, tell you your blood oxygen level, predict your menstrual cycle and show you how much good or bad sleep you’re getting throughout the night. When you’re not recording workouts, you can use the Oura app for guided meditations, breath work, sleep sounds or even learn about things like the effects of caffeine on your body, why sleep matters and what your readiness score means.

A Musical Journey From Classical to Creative as Vidushi Kala Ramnath performs In Ahmedabad on 12th January, 2023

Ahmedabad, January 3, 2023: Vidushi Kala Ramnath, the singing violin, will be performing at a concert in Ahmedabad at L D Arts College,(Old Amrut Mody School of Management).

The concert has been organised by Saptak School of Music. Violin Maestro Kumaresh ji will perform along with Kala Ramnath.

Kala Ramnath being one of the most brilliant and electrifying violinists in Indian classical music today. Her playing is characterised by her incredible speed and dexterity, remarkable control of the bow, and an extraordinary ability to bring out the subtleties of the ragas by making her violin sing. Her performances range from the traditional styles to the more experimental directions of improvisation. Her playing is deeply rooted in the traditional styles of Indian classical music, yet she has the ability to take her audience to new levels of musical exploration. Her improvisations are always filled with emotion and depth, and she always leaves her audience in awe of her mastery of the instrument.”

On performing at the Saptak- Annual festival of classical music, Kala Ramnath says “”The violin is a magical and complete instrument. It has the power to evoke emotions and create beautiful music. It can create a wide range of sounds and can be used to express a variety of feelings. Music is an endless journey and the violin is a vehicle for me to explore its infinite possibilities.”

Kala Ramnath frequently gives lectures and seminars all around the world. A few organisations worth mentioning are the Weill Institute in collaboration with Carnegie Hall in New York, the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music in the Netherlands, and the University of Giessen in Germany. She is committed to using music to improve the lives of ill and underprivileged children through her charity, “Kalashree.”

Muscadine Bloodline Drop Title Track To Forthcoming Album “Teenage Dixie,” Along With Music Video

MORE HARMONICA.

Muscadine Bloodline featured some beautiful harmonica work on their new song “Teenage Dixie,” which they just dropped last night, and I can’t get enough.

A heartbreak anthem about young love and being a teenager without a care in the world, Charlie and Gary detail how maybe the narrator isn’t quite over the heartbreak from that relationship, even though years have passed since the couple was together.

And not only did they drop the song, they released an accompanying music video, set in a high school football stadium that flashes back to the couple in their glory days, so to speak.

Plus, this song actually appears to be the title track to a new album, which is now showing up as an album in Apple Music, along with a full tracklist.

And also according to Apple Music, the record will drop on February 24th, and most songs included are obviously some new ones we’ve never heard before, but also quite a few singles they released in 2022, like “Made Her That Way,” “Me On You,” “Evinrudin’,” and “Cryin’ in a GMC.”

The Muscadine Bloodline boys have made a career out of doing it independently and releasing great country music, and judging by the few songs we’ve already heard, I don’t think this project will be any different and I’m really looking forward to listening to all 16 songs whenever they drop the record.

They put out their sophomore album Dispatch To 16th Ave in February, which took the #7 spot on our Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 list, and I have a feeling Teenage Dixie will probably find a spot somewhere on the 2023 list in 12 more months.

Make sure you check out the new video:

Make sure you check out the acoustic live performance too:

Teenage Dixie tracklist:

1. Teenage Dixie
2. Pocketful of 90’s Country
3. Made Her That Way
4. Me On You
5. Inconvenience Store
6. Evinrudin’
7. Cryin’ in a GMC
8. W.T. vs. the Devil (Monologue)
9. Devil Died in Dixie
10. Life Itself
11.  Good to Drive
12. Named After Natives

Russian TV Hosts ‘Surreal’ New Year Show Fusing Music and War Propaganda

© Getty
Russian President Vladimir Putin smiles during his brieing after the State Council meeting at the Grand Kremlin Palace, on December 22, 2022 in Moscow, Russia. Russian comedian Yevgeny Petrosyan has faced an online backlash after saying Russia is expanding despite attacks from the West.

Russian state TV has been criticized for a New Year celebration that fused music and dancing with war propaganda as well as warnings for the West.

The Daily Beast’s Julia Davis shared multiple clips from Russia’s New Year Special on state TV to her Twitter page.

Many of the clips have since gone viral and showed the spectacle as the hosts and guests sat around tables watching performers on stage.

In one of the videos she shared, Davis wrote: “During Russia’s New Year special on State TV, they openly addressed the West to say, ‘Like it or not, Russia is enlarging.

“The rest of the clip should give you a general idea as to the mood in the studio.”

The video has so far been viewed more than 870,000 times since being posted on Monday.

After applauding a performance, the Russian comedian and host for the special Yevgeny Petrosyan, made reference to the Ukrainian war.

He said: “My New Year’s toast will be a bit unusual. During the past year, the West tried to destroy Russia.

“They didn’t realize that in the composition of the world, Russia is the load-bearing structure.”

Petrosyan then received applause before continuing: “Yes, gentlemen, like it or not, Russia is enlarging.”

He again received thunderous applause from the guests at the special.

In another clip, that has so far been viewed more than 150,000 times, Davis criticized one of the songs that was performed.

“During a New Year’s special on Russian state TV, they had the audacity to appropriate a Ukrainian song, ‘Chervona Ruta.’

“The singer performing it was dressed as some kind of a madam. Backup dancers, unsuccessfully pretending to dance like Ukrainians, were grotesquely ridiculous.”

Some social media users did point out that the woman performing the song was a Ukrainian, Taisia Povalii, who moved to Russia from Ukraine in 2014.

Hans Kristensen, director of the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists, also reflected on the special in a tweet.

He said: “This Russian New Year TV show is surreal and eerie.

“The Anschulss-like declaration ‘Like it or not, Russia is enlarging! is followed by smiles and applause.

Sure brings to mind the cabaret scene in Mel Brooks’ satirical movie Springtime For Hitler.”

Other social media users also noted the comparison to the song from the 1967 film The Producers, with one Twitter user writing: “Springtime for Hitler vibes.

“Over your border we’re barging! Look out, cause Russia’s enlarging.

“Conscription for all is so beguiling Vlad can see us so we can’t stop smiling.”

University of Helsinki Urology Professor Kari Tikkinen also warned of this Russian propaganda.

He wrote: “They say: Russia is enlarging, like it or not.

“Overall, a very absurd video and most of the folks in the studio like [flushed face]

“This is Russian propaganda 2023, version 3.0. Sad and dangerous.”

Newsweek has contacted Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for comment.

The game gives you six opportunities to get the song perfect and the aim is to get it right in as few attempts as possible. The tasks can be complex at times since only the beginning of the song’s opening is played, and even if the music is known, it might be difficult to recognise.

Since it was introduced earlier this year as a tribute to Wordle, the game’s popularity has skyrocketed. Spotify purchased the game in July 2022, which is now accessible to customers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Bathing In Brian Eno’s Genius

When Brian Eno left Roxy Music in July 1973, he claimed to the music press that he was planning to form a new ensemble called Luana And The Lizard Girls – a provocative undertaking which, as Eno biographer David Sheppard related, would only perform “in improbable venues such as launderettes and massage parlors.“ Luana And The Lizard Girls didn’t happen, but Eno’s stated aim (to “drag together a bunch of bizarre people”) came to fruition when sessions began, two months later, for his first solo album, Here Come The Warm Jets.

Listen to Here Come The Warm Jets on Apple Music and Spotify.

Not that the musicians Eno gathered around him could – or should – be described as “bizarre”, exactly: more that their disparate and contrasting styles represented a determined (and career-long) desire on Eno’s part to encourage fresh and intuitive modes of thought, eradicate boundaries, and throw the mixture up in the air and construct enduring art from the falling fragments.

Among those filing into London’s Majestic Studios in September 1973 were guitarists Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Chris Spedding and Paul Rudolph (Pink Fairies), bassists John Wetton, Busta Jones and Bill MacCormick (Matching Mole), drummer Simon King (Hawkwind), and a clutch of Eno’s former Roxy Music bandmates. An all-star assemblage, but the results were mercifully free of the extended jamming one might have expected, cleaving instead to Eno’s subversive avant-pop tendencies. Here was a bold sonic statement which, in part, just about qualified as a glam curtain call, but which also hinted at enticing new avenues of expression.

If the Velvet Underground-indebted “Needles In The Camel’s Eye” and the malformed Bo Diddley shudder of “Blank Frank” suggested an aesthete’s fascination with a particularly raw-boned arm of rock history, the suffocating, bedeviled “Driving Me Backwards” trudged stoically into an all-consuming darkness. (It’s tempting also to imagine that the delirious, atonal synth manipulation of “The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch” and the arch, decadent tease of “Dead Finks Don’t Talk” referenced Eno’s own recent past in Roxy Music.)

Throughout, Eno’s enigmatic lyrics painted playfully surreal word pictures (“Juanita and Juan, very clever with maracas” in “Baby’s On Fire”), or tapped a vein of waspish venom (“Oh you headless chicken, can those poor teeth take so much kicking?” in “Dead Finks Don’t Talk”).

Released by Island Records in January 1974, Here Come The Warm Jets rose to No.26 in the UK. If Eno’s solo albums would never again trouble in the charts in quite the same manner, it goes without saying that, with further releases, plus an epochal Bowie collaboration in the wings, his sphere of influence was poised to go through the roof.

Here Come The Warm Jets can be bought here.

In 2021, Apple acquired the classical music streaming service Primephonic. At the time, the Cupertino firm said the service “plans to launch a dedicated classical music app next year combining Primephonic’s classical user interface that fans have grown to love with more added features.”

But as 2022 passed, the company didn’t state when Apple Music Classical would be released. With that, it’s been more than a year since Primephonic users don’t have a place to listen to their favorite classic songs properly.

Last February, 9to5Google discovered a code reference regarding this upcoming Apple Music Classical, as it found a string referencing it. Here’s what the publication reported in 2022:

In August of last year, Apple acquired Primephonic to boost its streaming service’s classical music prowess. The dedicated app was shut down several months later, and existing subscribers were told to use Apple Music until the new app was ready in early 2022.

With that deadline nearing, the Apple Music beta features a string that reveals the name “Apple Classical,” and the upcoming ability to open a compatible track directly in the optimized service. That looks to be the name for the upcoming Android app, but it could always change before launch. This reveal is similar to that of “Apple One” in 2020.

Is Apple Music Classical coming in 2023?

As of now, it’s unclear when Apple Music Classical will be released, as Apple only mentioned this service when the company acquired Primephonic in 2021.

The last time Apple focused on new services was in a 2019 event when it introduced Apple Arcade, Apple News Plus, Apple TV Plus, and the Apple Card. The company unveiled Apple Fitness Plus and an Apple One bundle a year later.

Since the company is rumored to introduce new Macs this year, a Spring event with new hardware and a possible Apple Music Classical announcement could make perfect sense.

Country music star Hardy to perform at WWE Royal Rumble – WON/F4W

Country music star Hardy will be performing live at the Royal Rumble later this month.

WWE announced during Raw on Monday that Hardy will perform the single “Sold Out”, the official theme song for Royal Rumble, live on January 28 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Hardy appeared on Raw during a Music City Street Fight between Solo Sioka and Elias. At one point during the match, Hardy gave Elias a guitar, which Elias used to attack Sikoa with. Towards the finish, Hardy entered the ring and smashed another guitar in the back of Sikoa. However, Sikoa was unfazed by the attack. Hardy immediately left the ring as Sikoa soon picked up the victory after throwing Elias on top of a piano.

After the show ended, WWE posted an interview with Hardy, who said he wanted to help his fellow musician.

Hardy previously performed for WWE at the 2020 Tribute to the Troops event.

Here is the updated lineup for Royal Rumble:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble match
  • Women’s Royal Rumble match
  • Pitch Black match: Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight
  • Country star Hardy to perform
