bludnymph returns with “Lights Out” visual – Aipate

Emerging Canadian artist bludnymph continues to showcase her rap-infused dark-pop sound with a new single. The song is called “Lights Out”; it arrived together with a riveting visual. Directed by Kathryn Jankowski, that video looks and feels spooky.

I like to get out my evil, darker side with my music – I channel it so I can keep being nice & not get angry at people,” says bludnymph. “It’s nice to be mean & aggressive in my music as an outlet so I can work on setting boundaries better in my personal life.

Catchy and energetic, the song oozes sweet fury. The singer-songwriter’s writing and performance are nothing short of sterling.

PongoFromTheS is flying high in his afrobeat hip hop single, Boeing – Independent Music – New Music

Fusing the colourfully galvanizing zeal of Afro Beats with the grit and soul of old-school hip-hop, the French-Canadian artist, PongoFromTheS pumped plenty of energy into the standout single, Boeing, from his 2022 album, AIP (Alone in Public).

The versatile 12-track release is a testament to how far he’s come since launching his debut single in 2015. Along the way, he’s collaborated with internationally renowned artists and producers; on the basis of the party-rocking but lyrically-rounded single, Boeing, it is only a matter of time before he’s as accoladed as the likes of Zaytoven and Denzl. You’d be seriously hard-pressed to find another urban underground artist who pours as much innovation into their layered instrumentals that become an euphorically complex platform for his charisma-driven bars.

Boeing is now available to stream on Spotify.

Vienna I drops new EP titled XVIII – Aipate

A few days ago, London-based teenage newcomer Vienna I released an EP titled XVIII. This 4-track project is an exhibition of her mastery of rap and singing. There are influences from R&B and soul to rap and hip hop.

While the Vienna has, in the past, already shown maturity beyond her years, XVIII marks her transition into adulthood. It includes the songs: “Hear You Say”, “Questions”, “Wish I Knew” and “Leads To You”.

The EP feels youthful and lively. Listen via Spotify and follow Vienna I on Instagram.

Ups and Downs: Mcubed makes everything rather clear on Who Am I – Independent Music – New Music

Sailing on flight mode and letting his crisp flow guide us into the dreamy clouds above, Mcubed avoids the fake glitz and shows us why the underground has the best music on Who Am I.

Mcubed aka Brandon Johnson is an Atlanta-based, Oklahoma-born indie hip hop artist who grew up rapping with his cousins and hasn’t looked back since.

Filled with inspiration, he continues to intuitively come up with hooks to songs that he writes and records for the world to hear.” ~ Mcubed

Overflowing with confidence and soaked in a self-aware mentality, Mcubed is that electrifying ether through the speaker we all needed to sink deeply into. This is quality hip hop like it should be. There are smooth-as-ice bars here to keep even the most hardened rap cynic happy here.

Who Am I from Atlanta-based, Oklahoma-born indie hip hop artist Mcubed is a thunderous effort made with magnetic proportions many simply can’t comprehend. Laced in a firm fibre that has trigger-inducing raps to learn from, we find a terrific single which is sparked full of a track with excellent written all over it.

Tune into this fine new single on Spotify. See more on IG.

Gangsta Boo Passes Away | 2DOPEBOYZ

Today (Jan. 1) is the final day of Kwanzaa, Imani (or, “faith”): to believe with all our hearts in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

With a heavy heart, it was announced that Memphis rapper Gangsta Boo tragically passed away today. Née Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, she was a member of the influential Three 6 Mafia, which also included DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, Crunchy Black, and Koopsta Knicca among others (Lord Infamous, also a nephew of DJ Paul, passed away in 2013). In recent times, she would collaborate with a variety of musicians, including Latto (on “FTCU“), Run The Jewels (on “Walking in the Snow“), JunglePussy (on “Stamina“), and newcomers such as Hannah Monds (“Big Momma”).

Another day offers another exciting Heardle challenge for music fans all around the world. It allows you to continue your great winning run in the game while also allowing you to unwind before taking on the day’s numerous tasks.

The game gives you six opportunities to get the song perfect and the aim is to get it right in as few attempts as possible. The tasks can be complex at times since only the beginning of the song’s opening is played, and even if the music is known, it might be difficult to recognise.

Since it was introduced earlier this year as a tribute to Wordle, the game’s popularity has skyrocketed. Spotify purchased the game in July 2022, which is now accessible to customers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Heardle hints and solution: Tuesday, January 3, 2022

The daily tasks in Heardle are similar to those in Wordle but the musical element makes the game considerably more enjoyable and thrilling.

One thing to keep in mind is that the songs that the app releases every day are among the most-streamed singles from the past decade, which some may say gives modern music fans an unfair edge.

However, the app also includes hits from the 1980s and 1990s. With that stated, here are some hints to assist you in determining today’s Heardle song:

Hint 1: The song came out in 2016.

Hint 2: The music is of the pop genre.

Hint 3: Hailee Steinfeld’s single with Grey and Zedd.

Hint 4: The length is 3:01.

Hint 5: One word in the song’s title.

Hint 6: It starts with the letter “S.”

Hint 7: The song is from the album Haiz.

If you still have not guessed the music, scroll down to find out what it is.

The Moving Stills present “Better” – Aipate

Australian band The Moving Stills have a new single that I found found refreshing The bright and fuzzy indie-pop tune is christened “Better”. Musically, it’s an engaging blend of guitars and synths.

About “Better”, band member Tommy remarks, “It’s a story about seeing the good despite the challenges in a relationship. We wrote ‘Better’ about that and how having someone in your life that you care about is a great thing. Focusing on how the other person makes you feel. Even when you’re missing them, knowing you’ll see each other again creates excitement.”

Listen to the ecstatic song and keep up with The Moving Stills on Instagram.

Batten down the hatches, Below Bermuda is back with another rip-roaring slice of alt-rock, Wings – Independent Music – New Music

After a brief recording hiatus, the international alt-rock outfit, Below Bermuda turned up the temperature with the blazing hot funk-dripped riffs with their first release since 2018, Wings. If you’re sick of four-chord rock, dig right into the complex rhythmic patterns in this hit that will dizzy you into mesmerism. Although you might want to batten down the hatches first, Below Bermuda is about as unreckonable as the Bermuda Triangle itself.

The Rise Against vocal reminiscence and melodically hooky instrumentals in the choruses around the frenetic punk rock pacing in the verses create a track that keeps on giving. After one hit of Wings, I knew that Below Bermuda is a band well-worth catching live. Their animated energy that pulls it together just enough to create a tight AF performance will undoubtedly make for an unforgettable live experience.

It just so happens that before lockdown crimped their touring and recording plans, Below Bermuda rip roared through venues and festivals in the UK, earning themselves the accolade of one of the hottest live acts on the scene.

Wings is now available to stream on Spotify.
